Audi’s most efficient electric vehicle yet combines cutting-edge aerodynamics, advanced battery technology and intelligent engineering to maximise range and everyday usability.

Audi has officially unveiled new details of the upcoming A2 e-tron, describing it as the most efficient Audi ever built. Designed to redefine efficiency in the compact electric vehicle segment, the A2 e-tron combines advanced aerodynamics, a highly efficient electric drivetrain and intelligent battery management to achieve a preliminary WLTP energy consumption of just 12.8 kWh/100 km.

According to Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, the original A2 has always represented efficiency within the brand. The new all-electric A2 e-tron continues that legacy by delivering exceptional efficiency, practical everyday usability and the features modern EV buyers expect.

Aerodynamics Designed for Maximum Efficiency

One of the biggest contributors to the A2 e-tron’s impressive efficiency is its aerodynamic design. With a drag coefficient of just 0.24, it is the most aerodynamic compact model Audi has produced.

Its streamlined body features a rounded front end, flowing roofline and sharply defined rear, while additional aerodynamic elements such as air curtains, gap reducers and an active cooling intake help minimise turbulence and improve airflow around the vehicle.

At highway speeds, where aerodynamic drag becomes the largest source of energy consumption, these improvements reduce energy usage by as much as 0.9 kWh/100 km, helping extend driving range.

More Efficient Electric Drive System

The A2 e-tron’s 140 kW (190 PS) electric drivetrain features new silicon carbide power electronics, an improved electric motor and a revised transmission. Together, these upgrades increase efficiency by up to 10 percent while maintaining smooth everyday performance.

New LFP Battery Improves Charging

A 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivers improved durability, safety and charging performance. An intelligent cooling system helps achieve 89.6 percent charging efficiency, while the battery can be regularly charged to 100 percent without significantly affecting its lifespan.

Bidirectional Charging

The A2 e-tron supports both Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) for powering external devices and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), allowing the vehicle to supply energy back to a compatible home.
