The 2026 Polo Cup Germany season heads beyond Germany’s borders for the first time this year when the series arrives at Belgium’s legendary Circuit Zolder from 10 to 12 July. It’s not just the venue that’s different. Fans are in for a packed weekend as the championship introduces a brand-new format featuring three races and three separate qualifying sessions. The expanded schedule makes up for the cancelled opening DMV Goodyear Racing Days round at Hockenheim, ensuring competitors still get to contest a full 12-race championship. It also means consistency will be more important than ever, with drivers getting three chances to score points, but also three opportunities to make mistakes.

Championship leader Julian Konrad arrives at Zolder as the driver to beat after extending his points advantage to more than 30 following a dominant outing at the Nürburgring. But the fight behind him is heating up. South Africa’s Bradley Liebenberg sits second in the standings after his Nürburgring victory, while Cedric Piro remains firmly in contention. Franco Fahrbach, driving for Max Kruse Racing, will also be looking to build on the momentum from his maiden victory last time out. The grid itself receives a healthy boost for the Belgian round, growing to 22 cars thanks to several high-profile additions. Experienced racer Manuel Rubow returns to circuit racing in car #87, bringing GT3 and Clio Cup experience to the championship.

Zolder will also mark the beginning of a collaboration between Polo Cup Germany and the Polo Cup Benelux. Fast local favourite Laurents de Wit joins the field as a guest driver in car #5, while Fabian Schonhooven will compete for the experienced Molkenboer Autosport squad in car #50. Better known for its campaigns in TCR, GT4 and the Supercar Challenge, Molkenboer Autosport will also play a key role in next year’s Polo Cup Benelux. The championship’s growth shows no signs of slowing down either. More newcomers are expected for the Lausitzring round later this season, while organisers are targeting a 25-car grid for the Hockenheim finale and hope to attract around 30 entries for the 2027 campaign.

Series organiser Thorsten Willems believes the combination of Zolder’s demanding layout and the new race format will deliver one of the highlights of the season: “Zolder is extremely demanding in terms of both driving skills and equipment. With the new format of three races over a single weekend and a strong field of 22 cars, we’re offering fans a spectacular show. We’re delighted that interest in the Polo Cup Germany is so high even beyond our national borders and that we’re able to welcome strong guest drivers. Thanks to the live stream of the DMV Goodyear Racing Days, all fans can experience the spectacle up close.”
