Special editions are common enough, but Porsche always takes things to the next level, especially when the client has enough f-you money to use the famed Sonderwunsch programme – in this case, the project was dubbed ‘Tree of Life’. It was created as a rolling tribute to Moldova’s culture, traditions and craftsmanship. The standout feature of this GT3 is that mad paintwork – up front, it wears Violapurplemetallic (try saying that 10 times fast), which fades into Chromaflair Magic Magenta at the rear. The colour transition was inspired by the various stages of grape ripening, a nod to Moldova’s wine-growing heritage. Even the lightweight 20- and 21-inch magnesium wheels follow the colour-shifting theme.

The centrepiece is a hand-painted Tree of Life graphic stretching across the bonnet and roof in Neodyme Porsche Gold. In total, the exterior took around 400 hours to complete. A close look reveals a precisely etched ‘M’ integrated into the front grille as a discreet signature for Moldova. Tidy.
Step inside, and there’s Lila leather, Ruby Star Neo accents, Atacama Beige stitching and bespoke Pasha fabric that create a cabin that’s equal parts luxury sports car and rolling art gallery. The traditional Pasha pattern has been reimagined throughout the interior, appearing on the seat centres, door panels, glovebox and luggage compartment surfaces. Natural Moldovan Paldao wood is featured on the manual gear lever, as well as on the decorative inlays on the seat backrests. It’s rather intricate and definitely not the kind of interior you let toddlers or pets loose in. We’re sure it won’t be too long before a theme like this pops up in a Mk7 show car, but remember you saw it first here at Performance VW.

“Porsche Moldova commissioned the ‘Tree of Life’ car to mark 15 years in the country, and we were honoured to be entrusted with this project,” said Michael Kirsch, CEO of Porsche Central and Eastern Europe. “I believe it can inspire customers and brand enthusiasts everywhere to discover what is possible when personal vision meets Porsche’s individualisation offering.”

The one-off GT3 Touring made its debut during an exclusive customer event at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chișinău. The car will remain on display as part of a dedicated exhibition before eventually moving to Porsche Centre Moldova. If you’re in the area, snap a few pics for us, this is a Porsche we won’t easily get bored with…
